Community Development Foundation is presently running two projects on education in district Jacobabad. The major project is “Quality Education project Sindh” which is three year duration project with the support of Catholic Relief service CRS. The project started on 1stJanuary 2014 & will end on 31st December 2017. This is a pilot project focusing 12 government primary schools of union council Balochabad district Jacobabad. The objective of the program is to improve quality of education in rural areas of district Jacobabad. The second on-going project on Basic Education is “Basic Education Community School” with National Education Foundation (NEF). 20 VECS has been handed over to CDF for supervision in district Jacobabad, out of them 12 schools are in Tehsil Thull, and 08 Schools are in Tehsil Garhi Khairo. More than 640 out of school children are getting basic education from these schools.
Similarly CDF has completed four education related projects with the support of national & international organizations. CDF has recently completed a three years “Food for education project” in district Jacobabad on 31st of December 2013 with the support of Land O Lakes International Development. The basic objective of the project was to increase enrolment & decrease dropout ratio in girl’s primary schools of district Jacobabad. This was an incentive based project & every girls child attending 80% school in a month got one bottle of edible oil for three years.The success results of this project are as under:
